Description
5" mouthpiece Low port tongue relief snaffle with roller The mechanics: ~ The dogbone/double jointed design with roller: this design is slimmer than the traditional lozenge/peanut link in double jointed snaffles and moves freely and rolls. This gives more bit acceptance and unlike a single joint, avoids poking the palate and concentrating pressure. ~ Mild/low port: lifts pressure off the tongue, perfect for horses that are sensitive to tongue pressure that shake their head, snatch the reins or tongue over the bit. Special features of this bit: ~ The copper roller moves freely and is not able to pinch. ~ The joins/links are much smaller than a traditional snaffle, alleviating pressure and preventing the 'nutcracker effect' ~ Sweet iron gradually oxidises into a sweet grey rust, which is oddly enough appealing to horses and encourages salivation and acceptance of the mouthpiece. ~ Unlike many traditional snaffles, this bit has a curved mouthpiece, so it avoids concentrating pressure onto the lips and bars and gives a more ergonomic fit. ~ Curves around the tongue and conforms to the shape of your horse's mouth for optimum comfort (see bit on back of my hand) providing a more anatomically sound choice for bitting.
