13.2hh (home measured) Northland Bush Pony – 5-Year-Old Mare Cupcake was mustered in 2024 and has had a foal, which she delivered easily and without assistance. She has a lovely nature and is a confident, willing ride with a little bit of spunk. Walks out beautifully and recently went pig hunting, keeping up with the big horses. Has been mustering with dogs on steep Gisborne hill country and was broken in a halter, so has a soft mouth. She is new to jumping but has not fear with it at all - has jumped troughs and gates first pop. Because she is new to it requires a bit of momentum. She hasn’t done a lot of jumping yet, mostly at home, and has only jumped in an arena a couple times. I have just started doing some flat work with her. She is a super quick learner and submits super easily. She can occasionally have little tantrums about leaving her mates, but once she’s away she’s sweet as. Most of her riding is done alone. She can be a bit hard to catch, sometimes turning away and walking a bit, but it doesn’t take long, and I believe this will improve with time. When she’s in work I can walk straight up to her. She will happily stand to be rugged at night in the paddock. Currently barefoot with unreal, super-hard feet. I love her to bits. She has a genuinely lovely nature and is a sensible, confident little mare. She has never shown me any nastiness or dirt and is not the type to try and hurt anyone. She has a bit of life and enthusiasm without being silly, and is the sort of pony you can enjoy without having to kick along all day. For her age she is pretty dam quiet, barely spooks at anything however being only five, she would suit a confident rider who appreciates a super willing pony with a bit of personality.
